NWsource, FORT DISCOVERY - FIREARMS INSTRUCTION BASIC HANDGUN 1.1: This course will build on what you learned on Basic handgun 1.0 and was developed to give you more trigger time on the range. The course will also focus on presentation, site picture, reloading, and malfunction drills. WHERE: FORT DISCOVERY WHEN: FRIDAY, JUNE 21, 2013 TIME: 0900-1600 COST: $150.00 *Students will either need to have attended Basic Handgun 1.0 or be able to prove their gun handling skills prior to course commencement with a Fort Discovery instructor. INTRODUCTION TO THREAT AWARENESS & DEFENSIVE WEAPONS: WHERE: FORT DISCOVERY WHEN: SATURDAY, JUNE 22, 2013 TIME: 0900-1500 COST: $125.00 *This is an entry level course classroom only and great course for beginners! Our Introduction to Threat Awareness & Defensive Weapons will give you the confidence you need when making a split second decision to save your life or the life of another. This course focuses on Jeff Coopers threat index and how to detect a threat prior to the event. This will give you the upper hand on how and what defensive measures to employ. The course will also explore several types of weapons, which will include Knives, Tasers and Firearms. Other topics include care, cleaning, storage and your legal rights. BASIC HANDGUN 1.0: Our basic handgun course picks up where Introduction to Threat Awareness & Defensive Weapons leaves off. Here we help you establish a foundation of gun handling and marksmanship skills. It will give you confidence and skills that you can continue to build on. WHERE: FORT DISCOVERY WHEN: SUNDAY, JUNE 23, 2013 TIME: 0900-1600 COST: $150.00 Fort Discovery Inc. Required Gear & Equipment Students attending Fort Discovery firearms classes should bring the following gear and equipment. Eye and ear protection. Hat with a brim. Note pad and two pens. Sack lunch and bottled water (2). Holster, if you are bringing a pistol. Two magazines or speed loaders. 200 rounds of ammunition. Rifle or shotgun, depending on the class. Sling required. *Students should be prepared to sign a hold harmless. You are encouraged to wear clothing that is comfortable: blue jeans, BDU’s, sweatshirts and outdoor footwear. *Dress in layers and be prepared for all types of weather. *Students attending FD courses are welcome to stay at our bunkhouse at no cost with prior approval.
